High-end apartments are being built in Augusta. Some of which cost over $1000 a month for a one-bedroom. But what about the rest of us? Average citizens cannot afford them and are being pushed out of the city or onto the streets. It will only get worse without a city-wide plan to ensure that everyone has a place to live.
Courtney will always fight to ensure that everyone has what they need to thrive.
COVID-19 has forced families to cut their budgets and make hard choices. The city budget in the coming years will be no different. Hard choices will have to be made that balance the needs of the city and the desire to keep tax-rates low.
Courtney understands that any increase to a citizens' tax bills can mean the difference between paying for groceries, getting their medications, or paying the tax bill.
Rates of overdose have skyrocketed, evidence of untreated substance use disorders can be seen in our community, and families are struggling. Yet, new treatment centers are turned away, there are not enough detox beds and recovery support services are not widely available.
Courtney has dedicated her life and career to responding to the opioid crisis and will bring her expertise to the table.
You need a representative that will support your ideas, fight for the needs of our community and earn your respect. For someone who truly cares for our community, look no further.
